Hanley Ramírez was born on December 23, 1983, in Samaná, Dominican Republic. He began his professional baseball career at the age of 17, when he signed with the Boston Red Sox. Ramirez quickly rose through the ranks, making his MLB debut with the Florida Marlins in 2006. During his time with the Marlins, he established himself as one of the best shortstops in the league, earning two Silver Slugger Awards and a Gold Glove Award.
Later Years and Retirement
In 2013, Ramirez was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he played for three seasons. After a brief stint with the Cleveland Indians in 2017, Ramirez retired from professional baseball.
